Bosch associates spend a day going after big game

Hatvan – The enthusiasm of staff from Robert Bosch Elektronika Kft. in Hatvan has put a spark into the autumn season: on 8 October, they spruced up the Animal Park on Szúnyog Island. The organisers rewarded the volunteers and their families with a peek at wild animals feeding and a tour of the zoo.

Early on Saturday morning, near upon 70 volunteers gathered at the Hatvan plant for a day of painting high stands and roadside fence posts and putting up a new entrance to the Animal Park. A new pavement built in cooperation with the local council now leads from the adventure park to the Animal Park and links them up with the town centre. Volker Schilling, commercial plant manager in Hatvan joined the volunteer workforce together with his 10yrs-old son. The manager said he was glad to see how many enthusiastic colleagues had come to help. “I hope that now that the Animal Park has had a facelift with Bosch’s help, people of the town and animal loving adults and children from the surrounding area will be even keener to visit it.” After a morning of building and smartening up, the plant workers and their families were treated to an afternoon of activities arranged by Bosch and the Animal Park. After watching the animals feeding, the organisers led the children through the park and showed them the indigenous animals and big game animals and what they get up to. Bosch spent nearly 900,000 forints on the Animal Park refurbishment and afternoon activities.

This was not the first time Bosch volunteers have been in action in Hatvan. In spring this year, they renovated the Majtényi Street playground and its surroundings, and in July, they put a lick of paint on the corridors of the Gesztenyéskert Nursery.
