Budapest – Bosch is embarking on big new projects as its success story in Hungary continues. The company that is taking on an increasing role in shaping the future is adding a 60,000 square-meter site to its Budapest campus for new-generation development projects. Building the workforce is also a priority, and the number of engineers working in the Bosch Engineering Center Budapest has already reached two thousand.
High-technology test track and highly-qualified associates for the mobility of the future
To prepare for the rapid technological changes forecast in the next few years, Bosch is continuously expanding its Engineering Center Budapest, where its engineers are working on mobility of the future, concentrating on automated driving and electric mobility. The new-generation development projects have prompted the purchase of a new 60,000 square meter site beside the present Bosch Campus in Kőbánya. Bosch is putting great effort into being among the first to transplant emerging technologies into practice. Together with the usual office and laboratory functions, the site will have a 10,000 square-meter test track, the ideal environment for testing autonomous and electric functions in conditions of complete safety. The new section of the campus is planned to open in 2021, and building will start in 2018.

Bosch is now the largest industrial employer in Hungary: the figures show that more than 14,200 people were working for the company on 1 January 2017. When Attila Szél joined Bosch as a hardware project leader in July this year, he was starting work as the two thousandth engineer of the Engineering Center Budapest. He works on control electronics for future hybrid and electric cars. The engineer makes no secret of his delight in creating things that help to shape the future. As the Bosch Group in Hungary expands at a dazzling pace through a range of new projects, it is still seeking several hundred highly-qualified engineers and technicians for its sites in Budapest, Hatvan, Maklár and Miskolc.
